A new shawl for a new baby.

I'm never happier than when I'm making things. Recently I finished a crochet shawl for our new grandbaby, due in June. Maren is expected in June, but I don't know when yet so I got on and finished the work in good time.  Sometimes babies come early. Half of our family are across the pond in America so the shawl was packed away in a box and posted off with love.

I can't wait to see what she looks like!

A baby shawl I made for my grandson.

This is a cobweb shawl I made for my grandson, Dylan. I made it in a white, Sirdar 3 ply yarn, which washes and tumbles very well.  Here he is getting some warmth from it.  The first picture is misty because I took it through the window.

Shawls are special.  They take a long time to make and can get very tedious to do.  However, the patterns are often intricate and provide a real challenge for the knitter.

When you see a beautiful baby lying under one, it makes all the hard work worthwhile!
