A bluey, greeney sort of a mood.

Today, I am in a bluey, greeney sort of a mood so I thought I'd show you a little of my stache in that colour range.

The balls of wool above are by Wendy wools. I don't think they make this type of wool any more, which is a pity because it is nice to knit with and very easy to wash. It also tumbles well in the drier and doesn't turn to felt. I love a wool that tumbles well, don't you. I bought the wool from the internet.

Some of my wool lives here in a drawer. Needless to say, I have wool all over the place, but that doesn't mean that I know where to find it when I want a certain ball.

Tea Cosy

Just finished this tea cosy for a dear friend over in England. I had some small pieces of material left over from making Peanut's baby quilt and using a book which I won on Char's Blog, I have made this cosy. Hope she likes it!

Purple Jumper finished!

The purple jumper, to go under the romper suit, is now finished and I think the colours go well
together, don't you?

I am beginning to imagine a child in this set, although it is more girly and I don't know for sure what sex the grandchild is?

There's always the next time, isn't there.

I am feeling the passage of time as it melts between my fingers when I knit and sew. Already I have only twenty weeks left and still so much more to do.

A very special pin cushion

This is a very special pin cushion that my son, Rob, made for me when he was just a small boy at school. I remember being amazed that he had made it all by himself (with a little help perhaps). I vowed to keep it forever and have so far... I do use it a lot.

The pin at bottom left is a nappy pin. This is one of many safety nappy pins that I used for him and his brothers. I don't even know if you can buy them like that anymore. Most people these days use disposable nappies, but in 1974 when Rob was born, most people used washable nappies and these were the pins to go with them.

Have you noticed how pins have been getting bigger lately? They seem enormous now compared to when our grandmothers were sewing...

Do you have a special pin cushion like mine that means a lot to you? If so, I'd like to hear about it.

Purple hues

This is my current project - a small jumper (sweater) to go under the romper suit I completed recently. Isn't the colour gorgeous?

It's knitted on size 12 (2.75) and 10 (3.25) needles, which is my favourite size for knitting.
Do you like to knit with this size needles? or do you prefer to knit with a larger needle?

Again, I am using sock wool from Jo-ann's store in Knoxville. I like this wool very much.

Pink baby dress

This pretty dress is knitted in 4 ply. 4 ply works very well for baby clothes. It is not too bulky and yet it has a lot of warmth in it.

The lacy pattern is not difficult to knit and looks very effective.

I knitted this one to fit a size 18 - 20 inch baby.
